In emergency, many visitors want to use “the express service” of the online application process to get E-visa or “the approval letter” as fast as possible. If you are going to apply for Vietnam visa at the weekend and want to get it right after, let’s follow the below table to know which one you should apply for:
| Type of visa | The working time | Which department
accepts your visa |
| E-visa | Monday to Friday
(8 AM – 5 PM) |
The Vietnamese Government |
| Visa On Arrival | Monday to Sunday
(8 AM – 5 PM) |
The Immigration Department |
| At the weekend, the E-visa application won’t be accepted and processed because of the non-working time of “the Vietnamese Government” – no matter you require to use “the express service” or not.
However, “the Immigration Department” still has the working time at the weekend. Therefore, only “Visa On Arrival” is possible to apply at this time in case you are in emergency. |

“The express service” of Visa On Arrival at the weekend
| The express service | |
| The working time | The extra fee |
| 1 working day (8 hours) | 120 USD |
| 4 working hours | 170 USD |
At the weekend, there are just 2 options for you to choose: 8-hour and 4-hour service. All what you need to do is to access the website https://www.vietnam-evisa.com/apply/ and follow the detailed guideline to complete the application process.
With Visa On Arrival, you will be needing to get the visa stamp on arrival. At the weekend, Visa On Arrival counters at Vietnam airports still open 24/7, so you will easily get the visa stamp and use it to enter Vietnam.
Take note:
Please don’t forget to check the Vietnam time with your local time to make sure that Vietnam visa will be sent to you at the time you want. You are in emergency, however, if you apply for it in the non-working time, your visa will be sent at the day after – it wouldn’t be probably in your expectation.
