Australian citizens are allowed to apply for Visa On Arrival to enter Vietnam through 7 international airports. This is a type of online visa, so its process will be completed via online through a few simple steps as the full guidance below: 

1. Before arrival 

Step 1: Get the approval letter

The approval letter is one of the most important documents to enter Vietnam. It means:

• You are accepted to get the visa stamp on arrival at Vietnam airports. In addition, it is also one of the required documents while getting the visa stamp.
• In addition, the approval letter will be also required for boarding the airplane.

Firstly, you will be needing to access the website https://www.vietnam-evisa.com/apply/ to complete the online visa application form by providing every required information such as the full name, date of birth, the validity of your passport… Especially, you will also need to choose the type of visa that you are going to apply (the length of stay, multiple or single entry).

Depending on the type of visa as well as what your nationality is, the fee of the application process will be shown to require the online payment from you via Paypal, Visa or Master card… (from 6 – 20 USD for Australian citizens).

After 2 working days, the approval letter will be sent to you via email. After receiving it, you should print it out and present it for boarding the airplane as well as submitting to get the visa stamp on arrival. In emergency, it will be sent to you within only a few hours if you require the express service with the extra fee.

Step 2: Prepare the required documents

After receiving the approval letter, you will be needing to prepare every required document to get the visa stamp on arrival:

• The approval letter (print it out)
• The visa application form. You can consider to download it in advance from website and complete it before boarding the airplane. This way is usually used for those who want to save their time after arrival.
• The validity of your original passport must be at least 6 months from the day you enter Vietnam.
• There are still at least 2 blank pages to get the visa stamp
• At least 2 photos of 3×4 cm size
• Cash (at least 25 USD for the visa stamp with single entry and 50 USD for the visa stamp with multiple entry).

2. After arrival 

After arrival, you will be just needing to look for the “Visa On Arrival” counter at the airport to get the visa stamp. Every document is ready to be submitted, you just need to wait for your turn to submit it. Then doing the payment and getting the visa stamp to enter Vietnam.
