The Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam has officially promulgated new regulations on unilateral visa exemption policy for UK and some countries in Europe, including Finland. Accordingly, the 15-day visa exemption policy for Finnish citizens will be canceled from March 9, 2020.
In 2015, the Vietnamese government issued a unilateral visa exemption policy to Finnish passport holders. Accordingly, Finnish passport holders who enter Vietnam for tourist purposes will be exempt from visa for 15 days. Only those who enter for other purposes or stay longer than 15 days must apply for a visa.
However, with the rapid spread of the nCovid-19 epidemic throughout Europe, the Vietnamese government decided to cancel this visa-free policy for eight countries, including the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland. From 3:00 pm on March 9, 2020, all citizens from the above-mentioned countries must apply for a visa when coming to Vietnam.
