In order to enter Vietnam, Vietnamese government issued 3 types of visa: Electronic visa (E-visa), Visa On Arrival and Visa at Vietnam embassy or consulate in your country.

Following the policy, each one will be accepted through some fixed gates.

With the approval letter of Visa On Arrival, you can only enter Vietnam through 6 international airports as below:

• Noi Bai international airport in Hanoi city
• Tan Son Nhat international airport in Ho Chi Minh city
• Cam Ranh international airport in Nha Trang city
• Da Nang international airport in Da Nang city
• Cat Bi international airport in Hai Phong city
• Phu Quoc international airport in Phu Quoc island

Therefore, you can’t enter Vietnam by land.

If you are going to visit Vietnam through border gates, you can consider to choose E-visa. E-visa is accepted through 8 international airports, 16 border gates and 9 sea ports. However, E-visa is just suitable for those who are going to stay in Vietnam for not more than 30 days with single entry.
